Swimming Education Options: Pools to Schools vs. Leisure Centre Hire
"Pools to Schools" emerges as a favorable choice for aquatic education, boasting several advantages over "Leisure Centre Hire." In the Pools to Schools program, lessons are efficiently structured with a concise duration of 30 minutes, maintaining an optimal 12:2 student-to-instructor ratio. The convenience of conducting sessions within the school eliminates the need for travel time, ensuring more productive use of the available instructional time. The program allows for targeted instruction, focusing on specific pupils and tailoring the curriculum to individual needs. Additionally, the absence of minibus or coach hire requirements minimizes logistical challenges. With an impressive 5 and a ½ hours of dedicated swim time, Pools to Schools has a proven track record of success in achieving the 25m milestone. On the contrary, Leisure Centre Hire presents some drawbacks, including additional charges for travel, potential disruptions due to time spent outside of the school, and concerns about the quality of lessons. The limitation to targeting only one-year group, larger group sizes, an unfamiliar environment, and public interactions contribute to the overall drawbacks of choosing leisure centers for aquatic education. Considering these factors, Pools to Schools stands out as a more efficient and tailored approach to swimming education within the school setting.
ProACE Provides;
- A portable swimming pool, marquee, heater and filtration system for the agreed number of weeks. This will also be constructed prior to start date and taken down on the Friday, weekend and/or week after the final day of delivery.
- We Provide swim caps, which should be worn at times for all swimmers.
- Provide a qualified level 2 swimming teacher and lifeguard which will both have enhanced DBS checks. All certificates will be provided on the first morning before delivery.
- Provide and monitor chemical levels.
- Provide equipment which is suitable to deliver swimming lessons to all levels of ability. This will include swimming caps, woggles, floats, arm bands and belts.
- Empty the pool before we take down and off site.
School Provides;
- Electrical point which has been agreed and fitted by a qualified Electrician before we come on site to construct the pool.
- School will provide water and electricity for the duration of the time when the pool is in use. The tap needs to stay on for the duration of the pool being filled.
- A timetable and list of children for delivery so our swimming team can then put in place the requirements to make sure you get the best out of the programme.
- Access for a vehicle on site at all times which will allow us to bring all the required equipment on and off site. We understand restrictions on break/lunch times for safety reasons.
- Access to the pool/marquee area must be granted over the weekend and out of hours. This can be through a gate key or codes.
